The Goal of Adult and Community Education is to provide a
quality education to the citizens of Lee County 16 years of age
and older. Classes are offered at both day and evening sites
throughout Lee County, with special emphasis on those students
pursuing a High School Diploma, English as a Second Language and
marketable skills for employment. GED
Preparation:
The General Education Development Test (GED) provides an
opportunity to earn a nationally recognized high school diploma.
GED preparation classes are held throughout the county in area
high schools, technical centers and other community locations.
ESOL Programs:
Lee County’s Adult Education program provides English as
Second Language (ESOL) class for beginning to advanced level
students. The curriculum focuses upon work-related terminology,
skills and culture. This allows non-English speakers the
opportunity to become more productive employees
In addition, Adult and Community Education offers evening
classes for enrichment and leisure. Classes are offered at a
variety of locations, with the curriculum geared to the
requests, interests and needs of the community. Courses are
generally offered in the evening at a nominal cost to cover the
expenses of operating each class.
